From Idea to Reality
From the first concept and technical development to CNC machining, structural fabrication, assembly and the final product — we follow how the Carroten impressive display shelf moved through the complete Dev Studio development and manufacturing process.

Everything starts with an idea
A custom product rarely starts with a finished drawing.
At the beginning, there is usually a need, an idea or a visual direction that has to be transformed into a product that can actually be manufactured, transported, assembled and used.
For the Carroten impressive display shelf, the goal was to develop a retail element that would attract attention, present the products in a different way and, at the same time, function as a stable and practical sales display.
That is the point where an idea starts becoming a real product.
The idea becomes a technical concept
The first step is defining the form, dimensions, materials and the way the product will be used.
In this project, the base is a wooden structure with acrylic shelves, while the large palm elements, parasol and graphics give the product its distinctive visual identity.
Even at this stage, we are thinking about much more than appearance.
The display has to be stable. Products have to be easily accessible. Decorative elements have to be strong enough. The structure has to allow multiple identical units to be produced, while the entire system must also be suitable for transport and assembly.
The design has to be manufacturable
Once the concept is defined, every element moves into technical development.
The dimensions of the structure, shelf layout, positions of the decorative elements and all connections have to be precisely defined before production begins.
The large palm graphics are prepared for CNC machining, while the wooden structure is manufactured according to the technical dimensions and requirements of the finished product.
At this stage, the design stops being only a visual idea and becomes a set of real components that can be manufactured and assembled.
From a digital file to physical components
CNC machining allows complex shapes from a digital drawing to be transferred precisely into physical material.
The palm elements are first cut according to the prepared contours and then move through final finishing and branding.
At the same time, the wooden structures that will carry the shelves, products and decorative elements are manufactured.
Every component is produced separately, but from the very beginning it has to be designed as part of the same complete product.
Assembly reveals the real product
Once the main components are ready, assembly begins.
The wooden structure receives its shelves, side elements, palm graphics, branding and parasol. This is the moment when the physical product starts to resemble the original concept.
It is also the stage where proportions, connections, stability and the way different materials work together can be checked in real scale.
Details that look good in a drawing also have to work properly in the real world.
One prototype has to become a repeatable product
If multiple units are required, it is not enough for the first one to look good.
The process has to be repeatable.
Dimensions, CNC-machined components, the wooden structure, shelf positions and final assembly all have to be precise enough for every following unit to be produced to the same standard.
That is why product development also includes thinking about manufacturing — not only about making the first piece.
From the workshop to reality
At the end of the process, there is no longer a render, a sketch or a collection of separate parts.
There is a finished product.
The Carroten impressive display shelf went from an initial concept through technical development and CNC machining to wooden structure fabrication, assembly, branding and final preparation.
